A little bit of history...
We have worshipped here as a Christian Family for over 100 years.
It was on June 7th 1903 that a meeting was held for all the members of the congregation to make plans for the erection of a small church. The church was built and used for the first time on Sunday 31st July 1904. A new meeting room was added in 1995 offering facilities for creche, Sunday school and meetings.
From the beginning we have worked in close association with the Church of St Peter in Peebles and continue to do so. As Episcopalians in Tweeddale we are members of the world-wide Anglican Communion.
Today's Church
As a community, we are commited to work for the glory of God and the creation of a better world. We attempt to do this by promoting the ideas and values of the Gospels. Values such as respect for all people, promotion of human rights, the desire for freedom, justice and true fellowship, and the affirmation of the dignity of all. We are committed to the ecumenical cause working in partnership with the other churches in Innerleithen, Walkerburn and Traquir promoting united work and witness.
We are a seven days a week church! Our aims is to provide for the spiritual needs of each member and of our community. We provide support and care for each other in practical ways. We try to follow the example of the love and care that Jesus showed encouraging each person to reflect this in our community.
